Summer Camp 2020 Registration
Although there is a lot of uncertainty regarding future programming due the impact of the COVID-19 virus, registration is OPEN for our 2020 summer art camps. You can click through right now to browse, or read on to get a sneak peek of what’s in store. All registrations are 100% transferable, so if plans for the summer change, you’ll be able to shift your registration with no fees.
This summer, we’ll offer 19 different camps for children ages 3 to 8th grade. There are three different types of camps: week-long full-day camps (five hours per day, Monday through Friday), week-long half-day camps (three hours per day, Monday through Friday) and two-day mini camps (2.5 hours per day, twice a week).
Camps range in cost from $50 for the mini-camps to $150 for full-day camps. The half-day camps are $100. Families who register for three or more camps automatically receive a 10% discount.
Each camp will have its own theme, which provides shape and structure to the experience. One thing we know as artists is that giving yourself some limitations can really jump-start creativity. So we like to focus our camps around a theme or artistic process. It’s also a great chance for our instructors to build a camp around a subject matter that interests them!
Camp themes for 2020 include: Mermaid Magic, Beautiful Bugs, Myths and Monsters, Project Runway, Kindness Camp, West African Drumming, Color Splash, Street Art, Cross-Training for Artists, Fabulous Food Art – and more! Click here to see the full list.
One change in 2020 is that we’re adding more preschool mini camps. All four camps sold out quickly last year, so we’re offering seven this year. Mini camps are open to campers ages 3 to 5 and are designed to give young children opportunities to explore new art supplies and techniques. The camps are capped at twelve students, which allows for a lot of one-on-one attention from the instructor.
Mini camps are drop-off programs, meaning parents are not permitted to stay. It’s a great opportunity for young children to start practicing a little bit of independence. All campers must be potty trained.
If you’re not sure how to make art camp fit into your budget, we’ve got options! Any family can request a payment plan when registering, allowing you to spread the cost of the registration fees out over several months. If you’d like to set up a payment plan, call Kate Snyder at 859.236.4054.
Need-based scholarships of up to 90% are also available to families with limited financial resources. Click here to complete the online application form.
