We at the Community Arts Center, like many other non-profit organizations, rely on our volunteers. Throughout the year, hundreds of people donate their time to assist in carrying out the Arts Center’s mission of nurturing the arts, fostering creativity and promoting education in Danville/Boyle County

and the surrounding communities. We would be hard pressed to hold all of the events that we do during the year without them. From paintwaiting at Starry Night Studios to setting up exhibits, greeting visitors at the front desk to painting murals on Main Street, volunteers can be found at the Arts Center nearly every day of the year.
One dedicated volunteer is Andrea Cutts, who moved to Danville in May 2013. She first donated her time last August.
“I saw a call for Dantastic Revenge volunteers on Facebook. It was a lot of fun and I thought I’d like to come back more often. Now, I can’t leave this place!â€
Since then, Andrea has helped with Starry Night Studios by serving as a “paintwaiter,†an assistant to the painting instructors. She also staffed the front desk in fall and winter 2013, greeting visitors and relaying information about Arts Center programs and area attractions. She can now be found behind the front desk, leading crafts in Lisi’s Art Lab, helpng with the Muckin and Me class, running the Flower Creation Station and more at the Re: Rethink Recycling exhibit.

“I love seeing people’s reactions when they come in to the exhibit,†says Andrea. “It means a lot to me to see them so appreciative of the hard work we’ve put into it.â€
Volunteers were involved in every aspect of the Re exhibit, including exhibit construction, field trip guides, creation station management and soon, exhibit take-down.We greatly appricate eveyone who comes to donate their time, no matter how little.
