See 3 new plays by local seniors at Lunch with the Arts!

Liz OrndorffNext Wednesday we welcome local playwright and friend of the Arts Center Liz Orndorff back to Lunch with the Arts! This time she is bringing three new plays written by locals in a recent playwriting workshop for seniors.

The plays, written in one act each, are “Clever” by Yolantha Pace, “Trust” by Carolyn Ellis and “The Seven Sleeping Dwarfs” by Katherine Orton.

These plays are products of a summer workshop Liz hosted last year at Pioneer Playhouse. The workshop was called “Voices of Experience: Playwriting Workshop for Seniors,” and was presented through a grant from the Kentucky Arts Council. After seven weeks, participantspresented a staged reading of every play, which is where Lunch with the Arts Coordinator Joan Stansbury decided to invite them to the Arts Center for a repeat performance.

Every Lunch with the Arts is an informal gathering that welcomes questions from the audience and conversation between artists and non-artists. At this presentation, you may get a chance to interact and read parts as well!

Lunch will be provided by Melton’s Deli. In order to reserve a seat and a lunch, you’ll need to register online by 5 p.m. Monday, June 9 (it’s $10). Or you are welcome to bring your own lunch instead and pay $5 at the door for the program only.
