Comforts of Home
Comforts of Home is a collaborative exhibit featuring artwork by the Gathering Artists – Danville’s longest-standing artist society. Each year, the Gathering Artists select a unifying theme for their group show.
This year’s theme encouraged the artists to explore their private worlds – what they have, what they miss, what sustains them and what they feel. These ideas were then made real through oil paint, water color, acrylics, weaving, quilting, needlework, photography, found objects and jewelry.
You can visit the exhibit in person through October 30. The Art Center is open Tuesday through Friday, 11am to 7pm and Saturdays 10am to 5pm. Please read our updated COVID-19 policies before visiting.
If you aren’t able to see the exhibit in person, please enjoy the virtual exhibit, below! The artwork in this show is for sale. Size and price details are included in the captions of the image thumbnails below. Click on an image to see a larger version, along with details. Gathering Artists meet monthly on the second Saturday via Zoom to talk about their work, art opportunities in the community, techniques to share and to just enjoy the company of other artists and friends. Visit the Gathering Artists Group on Facebook for details and to learn more about encouraging your artistic spark expressed, for the time
being, from the comfort of home.
