Local Artists Groups
Connecting with an artist group is a great way to make new friends and introduce yourself to the regional artist community. It is also a good first step if you are interested in exhibiting at the Art Center, as these groups organize periodic group exhibits with us.
plein air artists
Plein Air Artists of Central Kentucky enjoy creating art outdoors, or “en plein air.” This is French for “in the open air.”
Beginning with just eight artists in 2014, the group has grown to more than 100 artists today!
From April through October, the outdoor season involves “Art Outs” at locations all over Central Kentucky. From January through March, the indoor season involves “Art Ins” covering a variety of art topics.
PAACK meets twice a month for group events, usually on Mondays. There are no annual fees, so if you are an artist looking to create art outside of the studio and “en plein air,” you may want to consider joining this group!

Gathering Artists
Gathering Artists is Danville’s longest-standing artist society. There are no membership dues, and artists working in any medium are welcome. The Gathering Artists typically present two or three group shows per year at locations around Danville. The group meets on the 2nd Saturday of the month at the Art Center at 10:15am.
