December at Art Center of the Bluegrass
The holiday season is upon us, and it’s time to take a break from the hustle and bustle to gather with friends and family and make some art! We have a selection of workshops to make something to give, culinary classes to up your hosting game, and camps for kids during winter break. See the complete listing HERE.
Art Center of the Bluegrass is proud to partner with the Blue Grass Community Foundation for the annual GoodGiving Challenge, Dec. 3-6. This online fundraising event brings together nonprofit organizations from around the region for four days of giving.
You can be part of the celebration by giving to your favorite nonprofit (which we know is us!). Visit Blue Grass Community Foundation to find out more.
Any donations received during the GoodGiving Challenge will be included as part of our matching challenge! We have until December 31 to match a $600,000 donation and we need your help. Thanks to the generous donations of so many of you, we have raised nearly $550,000. We have just $45,000 to go!
We know that times are not always right for giving, but there are other ways to help us meet our match. Please like and share our social media posts and tell your friends and family about how the Art Center has impacted your life.
Murrini Café is celebrating first anniversary this month!
Murrini Café is one year old! Our café opened in December of 2023 and has become a hub for connecting with our community. An intimate, cozy place to have lunch, meet with friends, or enjoy a glass of wine, Murrini has added so much to the Art Center. If you haven’t stopped in for a meal at Murrini Café yet, be sure to save room for cake!
Starting on Dec. 2, Murrini Café will be open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are available for catering or you can book the space for a family get-together, small event, or off-site work function. Contact us at 859-972-7121 for more information.

Picasso. Lichtenstein. Warhol. Miró. Hockney. These are just some of the famous artists on display at the Art Center in our Museum Gallery through Dec. 28. Please join us for a closing reception for Contemporary Prints: Picasso to Lichtenstein from 5-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5. Young at Heart Big Band will be performing for a second Lunch with the Arts, at noon on Friday, Dec. 13 at the Boyle County Performing Arts Center. This group is a perennial favorite at Lunch with the Arts so get your tickets today.
