Overview

This show came about in response to the protests for racial justice that took place this spring across the country – and here in Danville.  It is grounded in our belief that having conversations can bring people together and foster a better understanding of our lived experiences. Art plays an important role in expressing our experiences – and it sparks powerful conversations.

In this show, artists from throughout Kentucky have shared their artistic interpretations in the hopes of encouraging community dialogue and self reflection.

Click here to register for an Opening Reception and Gallery Talk (hosted via Zoom) on Thursday, January 21st at 7pm.

Join us in-person and online for a multi-faceted celebration of the Black experience, including:

– Three inter-related exhibits;
– Educational programs for children and adults;
– Gallery talks with the artists;
– Conversations hosted by the Danville-Boyle County African American Historical Socity.
