I N I not A N Y, it’s more than any… Paintings by Tiffini Scherbing, will be on view November 22 through December 30 in the Main Exhibit Hall. The community is invited to meet the artist and celebrate the opening at a reception on Saturday, November 22, from 2 to 4 pm.

A Journey Through Kentucky Life and Creative Spirit

Tiffini Scherbing’s work captures the essence of life’s experiences: the beauty and complexity of Kentucky’s landscapes, the emotional depth of human connection, and the enduring spirit of creativity. Each painting invites viewers to discover their own stories within the vibrant contrasts of color, form, and texture.

Raised in central Kentucky, Scherbing’s artistic journey was shaped by her family and her surroundings. From her father’s intricate carpet designs to her grandmother’s love of classical music and Degas prints, she was steeped in creativity from an early age. The resilience of Kentucky women, the hard work of the bourbon industry, and the quiet beauty of back roads all leave their mark on her canvases.

Art in the Midst of Life

Scherbing paints in the middle of everyday life and chaos. Her husband, a musician and “closeted mathematician,” fills their home with melodies that influence her brushstrokes. Together, they analyze each canvas as it evolves, as his precision balances her expressive impulses.

“We cultivate our ideas into something remarkable,” Scherbing says, “often astonished by the unexpected beauty of a misplaced stroke.”

Her work is bold, emotional, and deeply personal. “The bold pigments and brushstrokes I’ve put together speak for me,” she reflects. “I’ve followed the same unconscious ritual perfectly. I’ve cleaned my brushes. I am finished.”
