New Exhibit
The work of Roberta Eichenberg will be on exhibition at Art Center of the Bluegrass from June 9 through August 4 in our Main Exhibit Hall at 401 W. Main Street in Danville, Kentucky.
“For the Love of the Beasts” is an exhibition by Roberta Eichenberg, a nationally recognized glass artist and Professor Emeritus of Art at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. Now based in Danville, Kentucky, she is producing new work and exhibiting both locally and across the country.
Known for her thoughtful and often humorous approach to contemporary issues, Eichenberg continues to explore themes of environment, identity and personal reflection through her art.
A free reception for the artist will take place from 4:30 – 6 pm on Friday, June 13. Read more HERE
Lunch with the Arts
Pioneer Playhouse: 76 Years of Bringing Broadway to the Bluegrass!
Join us from noon – 1 pm on Tuesday, June 3 for a FREE fun-filled Lunch with the Arts, with Heather and Robby Henson. They’ll tell us about the upcoming season of summer stock theatre, right here in Danville! Don’t forget to grab lunch at Murrini Café while you’re here!
Poetry Connected
Poetry Connected is back! Visit the Art Center and take in the opulent beauty of our current exhibit, “The Beautiful Era”. Use the exhibit as inspiration and create a poem or short prose piece connected to the art. Then join us on Friday, June 6 from 7-9 pm to share your work with the group!
Mini Makers Club
Mini Makers Club is a special time set aside for kids ages 0-5 and their caretakers to explore, create and play in our Art Lab Classroom! Our weekly Friday sessions are on hold during the summer to make room for our campers, but Mini Makers are welcome on the first Saturday of each month.
Join us on Saturday, June 7 from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm for this FREE creative time. Check out each craft station, goof around in our play area, and meet new friends!
Art Therapy
Led by a licensed art therapist, sessions will be held on Thursday, June 12, and will teach creative ways of self-expression in a safe environment.
Art Therapy for Neurodivergent Tweens is for kids ages 10-13 and will meet from 4-5 pm. Register HERE

Hot Book Summer
Join us for the first chapter of Hot Book Summer, a book-loving art series in partnership with Plaid Elephant Books!
We kick off this series with a workshop customizing a book tote using stencils, stamps, or your own painted flair on Friday, June 13 from 6-8 pm. Register HERE
Then on Friday, June 27 from 6-8 pm our Hot Book Summer craft will be a book-themed pottery project! Register HERE
Bob Ross Painting Class
Bob Ross famously said, “We don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents,” opening the door to people of all skill levels.
Learn to paint in the iconic style of this television master in our Bob Ross Painting Class from 1-5 pm on Saturday, June 21.
