Halfway to Meeting Our Match – An anonymous donor has presented Art Center of the Bluegrass with a challenge – they will gift the Center with a donation of $600,000 – but only if we can match it dollar for dollar! In Our Museum Gallery – Art Center of the Bluegrass is proud to present Contemporary Prints: Picasso to Lichtenstein, opening on Sept. 20 and running through Dec. 28. This exhibit is curated from a local private collection and features some of the biggest names in modern art.
The walls of our Museum Gallery at 401 West Main Street in Danville will be graced with etchings, lithographs, and engravings by world-renowned artists such as Pablo Picasso, Roy Lichtenstein, David Hockney, Joan Miró, and Andy Warhol.
“Showcasing works by artists like Picasso, Lichtenstein, and Warhol in our Museum Gallery provides our community with a window into the transformative power of modern art,” said Museum Director Emma Scott. “The innovative approaches of these artists challenge our perspectives, inspire creativity, and foster a deeper appreciation for art.”
Contemporary Prints: Picasso to Lichtenstein is an unparalleled opportunity for people in Danville, Boyle County, and from the wider region to come and experience this extraordinary collection free of charge.
The owner of these remarkable works, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he’s “just a local collector who has been blessed with many opportunities and enjoys sharing one of my passions with others.”

Home School Art Club will meet weekly beginning Sept. 18 and running through Dec. 11 from 1-2:30 p.m. For ages 5-17, this club dives into a variety of art techniques including drawing, painting, ceramics, and more. Register here.
Our ever-popular Mini Makers Club is growing! This art-making time for little ones ages 0-5 years old, accompanied by a caretaker, is expanding its hours! Bring a little one to play, socialize, and make art from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays and 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Mini Makers is a free drop-in experience, but donations are always welcome.

Greats of the Gate – Check out this month’s edition of Keeneland Magazine, with a feature about a grant awarded to Art Center of the Bluegrass! We have been selected as one of three nonprofit organizations to participate in the inaugural release of a 10-year commemorative bottle series through a partnership with Marker’s Mark and Keeneland Race Course.
Greats of the Gate Marker’s Mark Bourbon
The world-class bourbon distiller and legendary racecourse have teamed up to create “Greats of the Gate”, a series of bottles to be released over 10 years featuring the most iconic horses in Thoroughbred racing. Proceeds will be donated to nonprofits supporting Kentucky culture, including the horseracing industry, hospitality, and the arts.
Art Center of the Bluegrass will receive $240,000 over three years from Maker’s Mark and their distributor, Southern Glazer’s. The first bottle will feature an illustration of racehorse Man o’ War by Kentucky artist Tyler Robertson and will be available in October at select Kentucky retailers.

had a great time in the Family Tent making bubble wands and Gelli prints with the kids at the Aug. 10 festival. The day was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the music was so good!
Thanks to the Danville-Boyle County Convention and Visitors Bureau for the opportunity to work a shift at the Boyle County booth in the Pride of the Counties exhibit at the Kentucky State Fair. We enjoyed talking to people and telling them all about Boyle County, Danville, and Art Center of the Bluegrass!
Fall Festival is Oct. 19 – We are looking for vendors and volunteers to help during our Fall Festival, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Art Center. 46th Annual Constitution 5K Run for the Arts – Join us on Sept. 15 for the 46th Annual Constitution 5K Run for the Arts! The course takes you from Constitution Square through beautiful downtown Danville, ending at Weisiger Park. Register today or on the day of the race from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The race starts at 5 p.m. with an awards ceremony at 6 p.m. All proceeds benefit Art Center of the Bluegrass.
