Endowment
The Art Center has three designated funds that support our programs. Each was established or inspired by a dedicated member of Danville’s arts community. To find out more about any of these funds or to discuss giving opportunities, please contact Kate Snyder at 859.236.4054 or kate@artcenterky.org

A Legacy of Love
Barbara Lockhart (1946-2017) was a brilliant artist and devoted friend of the Art Center. She believed passionately in the power of the arts to transform lives and invested in educational programs for children in our community. In 2018, the Art Center received a generous bequest from Barbara’s estate that established the Art Center Endowment Fund. As the Endowment grows, it will provide enduring support for the Art Center’s important, life-changing programs.

Passion for the Arts
The Dr. Larry Scott Fine Arts Access Fund was established in 2018 by a generous family that sought to recognize Dr. Scott’s commitment to the children of our community. Their hope is that the fund will continue to grow, allowing more children to experience the transformative power of the arts. Projects supported by the Dr. Larry Scott Fine Arts Access Fund include the Art Center’s youth programming in drama, visual arts, and music.

Inspiring Young Artists
Stephen Rolfe Powell (1951-2019) was an American glass artist, a longtime Centre College professor, and one of the founding members of the Community Arts Center (now Art Center of the Bluegrass). In 2019, the Art Center established the Stephen Rolfe Powell Memorial Fund for Children’s Art. We look forward to honoring Stephen’s creative legacy through programming to inspire the next generation of artists.
