Paint the Park

9 am – 1 pm

Paint the Park had its inaugural year in 2025, with hundreds of people participating in a HUGE public art display in Danville’s Millennium Park. This event is a partnership with Danville-Boyle County Parks & Recreation. We painted more than 150 squares at the park, and on July 3, participants filled them with personalized masterpieces.

This year, we are celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and Paint the Park will be in the middle of the celebration!

Registration is just $10 for a 4ft. x 4ft square and supplies to paint. We supply the tempera paints in several colors, information on color mixing, and foam brushes.

There will be only 200 squares – SPACE IS LIMITED so register today!

When you arrive at the park (1000 Cunningham Way in Danville):

Check in at the tents and pick up your painting supplies
Materials provided will be tempera paints, foam brushes, a foam roller, cups to mix paint in, and a Paint the Park frisbee!
The first 40 guests will receive a Paint the Park drawstring tote bag!
Pick a square and Paint the Park! (first come, first served for the location of squares)

You might want to bring:

Chalk for sketching out your plan
Additional brushes and painting tools you might like to use
A towel or cushion to kneel on – you will be painting on the pavement!

It’s going to be really hot:

Come early to avoid the hottest part of the day!
Wear a hat and light-colored clothing
Bring an umbrella, a cooler with cold drinks, or whatever you need to keep cool!

Also at the park:

Teach’s Coffee will be there with their awesome drinks and snacks!
Ephriam McDowell will be there to provide a tent for shade and sunscreen!
