November is here, and with it comes the hustle and bustle of the holidays, time with family and friends, and an urge to slow down, get cozy, and enjoy the time we have together.

Young at Heart Big Band
Get your tickets now for the Young at Heart Big Band! Performing big band tunes and holiday classics, this is a great opportunity to get into the holiday spirit – and help support the many free educational programs we offer here at the Art Center.
Tickets are just $10, with proceeds supporting our programs. Call 859-236-4054 to order discounted tickets for groups, seniors, and students.
This very special Lunch with the Arts, from noon to 1 pm on Tuesday, December 2, will be held at the Boyle County Performing Arts Center.
Bluegrass Gives is December 2
Tuesday, December 2 is a great day to support the Art Center! After attending the Young at Heart Big Band concert, please consider taking a moment to donate to the Art Center during Bluegrass Gives (formerly GoodGiving Challenge).

new exhibits
Two new exhibits open in November, highlighting the work of local artists Tony Richardson and Tiffini Scherbing.
“Visions of Santa: Paintings by Tony Richardson” will be on view November 3 through January 3 in the Main Street Gallery. The public is invited to a free opening reception on Friday, November 7, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Learn more HERE.
Later in the month, the Art Center will present “I N I not A N Y, it’s more than any… Paintings by Tiffini Scherbing”, on view November 22 through December 30 in the Main Exhibit Hall. A free opening reception will be held Saturday, November 22, from 2 to 4 p.m., offering the community an opportunity to meet the artist and experience her work firsthand.
Downtown Danville’s Gallery Hop is November 13, a perfect time to visit the Art Center and see these two exhibits, and stop in the studios of our seven Art Center Studio Artists, including Tony Richardson!
Meet Audrey Stith
Audrey Stith has been a member of the Art Center team since 2023. She is the face most people see when they enter our main campus building, and an indispensable help as our Executive Assistant. Here are 5 Things about Audrey:
1. I am 21 years old (22 in December!) and was born and raised here in Danville.
2. I have a senior chihuahua named Jimmy who is my best friend. I’ve only had him for two and a half years, but I couldn’t imagine life without him. He’s a severe ankle biter, but we’re working on it!
3. When I have free time, I’m either reading, playing video games, hiking at the Central Kentucky Wildlife Refuge, or finding new vintage/antique shops to explore. I love shopping second-hand and being able to give life to pre-loved items.
4. I spent 9 months working on a horse farm and delivered 150 foals!
5. In January, I will begin my college journey, and I am thrilled to have an opportunity to work my way into conversation science. I am deeply passionate about our planet and her unfortunate ecological decline, and I look forward to making a positive impact in sustainability efforts.
Host your Get-together at the Art Center
Did you know we have lots of options for celebrating at the Art Center? We can host your event at Murrini Café or in our Main Exhibit Hall, and we offer on-site and on-location catering too! We offer Art Parties for kids and adults, and can create a custom experience for you and your party-goers.

Art and Aging
The Art Center is partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association and AgeWell Senior Services LLC to recognize Alzheimer’s Awareness Month and to provide support for those in memory care and their caretakers.
Memory Café is a new monthly social get-together providing a safe, comfortable environment where people with memory loss and their care partners can enjoy time together and remain socially connected with others. Gathering on the second Tuesday of each month from 1-2:30 pm, this free program includes a craft project and social time together.
Mandy Emmons, founder of AgeWell Senior Services LLC, will be the guest speaker at our November Lunch with the Arts on Tuesday, November 4, from noon to 1 pm.
In recognition of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, Mandy will talk about the power of crafting and creativity, memory care for those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia, and the importance of community in support of overall well-being. We hope you will join us for this free program.
